BSB: April 6 Players of the Week

DALLAS – Following standout performances over the weekend, Missouri State centerfielder Caden Bogenpohl and right-hander Jason Schaaf earned CUSA weekly honors.

CUSA Hitter of the Week – Caden Bogenpohl, Missouri State – Jr. – CF – Jackson, Mo.
Bogenpohl was electric at the plate as he earns his first CUSA Hitter of the Week honor after leading Missouri State (21-9, 9-3 CUSA) to a 4-0 week, including a 15-14 thrilling win over No. 17 Arkansas and a sweep of Sam Houston. The junior centerfielder hit .500 (7-14) in the four wins with 12 runs scored, a home run, three doubles, three RBI and six walks. His lone home run was one to remember as he blasted the first pitch of the 10th inning over the left centerfield wall to walk off the Razorbacks on Tuesday night. In Friday’s 9-8 win over the Bearkats, Bogenpohl went 2-5 with two doubles and two runs scored. He added two more hits on Saturday and touched home four times.

CUSA Pitcher of the Week – Jason Schaaf, Missouri State – Sr. – RHP – Las Vegas, Nev.
Schaaf was named CUSA Pitcher of the Week after firing a two-hit shutout on Sunday against Sam Houston to sweep the series. The senior right-hander was phenomenal in 7.0 innings, allowing only two hits, no runs, two walks and struck out seven. The Las Vegas native retired the final 13 batters he faced to complete the first individual two-hit shutout by a Bear since 2013.
