KENNESAW, Ga. – No. 6 WKU defeated No. 9 MTSU 8-2 on day one of the 2026 CUSA Baseball Championship on Wednesday afternoon from Mickey Dunn Stadium at Henssler Financial Field on the campus of Kennesaw State. The Hilltoppers will take on No. 1 Jax State on Thursday at 1:30 p.m. ET, while the Blue Raiders will face off against the Gamecocks on Thursday at 1:30 p.m. ET to round out pool A play.
 
WKU’s short stop Reid Howard drove in a team-high three RBI. Camden Ross launched the Hilltoppers lone home run to center field in the bottom of the third. Daniel Stewart went 2-4 with a double, two RBI and one run scored.
 
Gavin Perry earned his eighth win of the season going 8.0 innings with six strikeouts and allowed two earned runs.
