WGOLF: NM State’s Bunch Earns Third Consecutive Golfer of the Year Honor, All-Conference Awards Announced

DALLAS - The 2025-26 Conference USA women’s golf all-conference and superlative honors were announced Thursday with New Mexico State’s Emma Bunch named the CUSA Women’s Golfer of the Year. All the superlative awards were voted on by the league’s 10 head coaches, while the all-conference teams were based on the league’s player rankings by Clippd.

Bunch was named CUSA Golfer of the Year for the third consecutive year, while Middle Tennessee’s Isabella Johnson was named Most Improved Golfer of the Year and WKU’s Reagan Ramage was selected as the Freshman of the Year. WKU’s head coach Adam Gary earned his third-straight Coach of the Year award.

Eight women’s golf programs collected all-conference accolades. League champion WKU and Sam Houston paced the league with three honorees apiece, while Delaware, Kennesaw State and NM State had two representatives. FIU and Jax State had one student-athlete across the all-conference teams.

Bunch becomes the first CUSA golfer since 2004 to win three consecutive Golfer of the Year Awards (Brooke Tull, TCU 2002-04). The senior ranks No. 88 in the Clippd rankings to serve as the highest ranked player in Conference USA. She competed in seven tournaments and 21 rounds for the Aggies in the final year of her illustrious career. Bunch finished in the top 12 in all seven tournaments, including six top-10 finishes. She also turned in four top-5 placements on the way to earning an at-large bid into the NCAA Stanford Regional. Across 21 rounds, she tallied 1,478 strokes to submit an 18-hole average of 70.4 strokes this season.

Johnson excelled as the top golfer for Middle Tennessee in her first season with the Blue Raiders. The sophomore finished the season with a stroke average of 72.32, placing her first in Blue Raider single season history. Johnson tallied 17 rounds at par or better, which broke another single season program record. The Murfreesboro, Tenn., native notched five top-5 finishes and was the low finisher on the season an all but three tournaments. She leads the team in birdies (89) and rounds in the 60s with four. Johnson’s lowest finish of the season came at the Inverness Intercollegiate in second place on one of the most difficult courses Middle Tennessee played this season.

Ramage earned the 2026 Conference USA individual title after shooting a 65 in the third round. That 65 tied the lowest score ever by a WKU golfer in a conference tournament and tied for the third lowest score all-time. She was the first CUSA freshman to win the individual title since 2013. Earlier in the season, Ramage tied for third place at the Mercedes Benz Intercollegiate at Tennessee, shooting 4-under. Ramage has the second-best stroke average on the Lady Toppers with 74.63.

Gary led the Lady Toppers to their second consecutive CUSA title after leading WKU to its first conference title in program history in 2025. Gary also coached freshman Reagan Ramage to a CUSA individual title, which marked the third WKU golfer to win the individual title in the last four seasons. Gary is the all-time winningest head coach in WKU women's golf history with 16 tournament titles in 12 seasons at the helm. Eight of those 16 have come in the last four seasons.
