OTF: Twenty CUSA Athletes Advance to NCAA Championships in Eugene

DALLAS – Twenty Conference USA student-athletes punched their tickets to the 2026 NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championship following the East and West Preliminary meets this past weekend. The championships will be from Wednesday, June 10 through Saturday, June 13 at Hayward Field in Eugene, Oregon.
 
On the women’s side, CUSA will be represented by seven student-athletes in six events. Kennesaw State’s Kali Terza and FIU’s Janiya Caesar will both compete in the women’s hammer throw. Terza landed a toss of 68.30m to finish second, advancing for the third time in her career, while Caesar threw a personal-best 62.33m and finished in 11th place.
 
Emma Sullivan of Kennesaw State will join Terza in Eugene, competing in the women’s 800m for the second consecutive year. She ran a time of 2:02.65 for an eighth-place finish to advance. FIU’s Amaya Bien-Aime earned a spot in the women’s high jump after jumping to a height of 1.82m, tying for fifth place. Teammate, Arndis Oskardottir will compete in the women’s javelin as she threw for 51.59m and finished in sixth place.
 
Liberty will see both Allie Zealand and Katrina Schlenker compete at the NCAA championships. Zealand qualified to compete in the women’s 1500-meter run with a time of 4:11.33 and an eighth-place finish. Schlenker punched her ticket in the 3000-meter steeplechase clocking in a personal-best 9:50.85 for a ninth-place finish.
 
On the men’s side, 13 will represent CUSA in Eugene. On the track, MTSU’s Mustapha Bokpin will compete in the men’s 100m and 200m dash. Bokpin clocked a time of 9.97 in the 100m dash for a fourth-place finish and ran a time of 20.28 in the 200m. WKU’s Kameron Horton also qualified in the men’s 200m dash with a time of 20.42. Sam Houston’s 4x100m relay team consisting of Xzamion Parker, Javian Johnson, Omarion Ferguson and Tyriq Burns turned in a time of 39.32 to advance.
 
Kennesaw State’s Gage Voyles and Kenyatta Bennett will both compete in the men’s high jump as they each cleared 2.16m to finish tied for first. Liberty had four qualify at the NCAA East Regional in Markus White, Gilles Ouedraogo, Christian Hicks and Ben Shughart. White will compete in the men’s long jump with a leap of 7.69m. Ouedraogo will compete in men’s triple jump with a jump of 15.94m, while Hicks punched his ticket in the men’s discus throw with a throw of 57.74m. Shughart rounds out the Flames as he qualified in the men’s javelin throw with a toss 70.61m and a fourth-place finish. WKU’s Sam Crenshaw will compete in the men’s pole vault after clearing 5.35m.
