OTF: Eleven Athletes Earn All-America Honors at NCAA Outdoor Championships

EUGENE, Ore. – Eleven Conference USA student-athletes earned All-America honors at last weekend’s NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships at Hayward Field in Eugene, Oregon. FIU, Kennesaw State, Liberty and MTSU saw athletes receive recognition following their performances.
 
FIU’s Arndis Oskarsdottir earned First Team All-America honors after placing eighth in women’s javelin with a season-best throw of 54.75m.
 
Kennesaw State’s Kali Terza earned First Team All-America honors, making her the first woman in program history to earn First Team All-America recognition in the hammer throw. She launched the hammer 68.72 meters to secure a seventh-place finish. Emma Sullivan earned Second Team All-America honors after setting a school record in the women’s 800 meters with a time of 2:00.37 to finish 12th. Kenyatta Bennett and Gage Voyles earned All-America recognition in the men’s high jump. Bennett cleared 2.16m to earn a 15th-place finish, while Voyles cleared 2.11m for 16th place.
 
Liberty’s Markus White long jumped a program-record 7.93m for fifth place to earn First Team All-America honors. Ben Shughart closed out his collegiate career with a ninth-place finish in the men’s javelin with a 73.92m to earn Second Team All-America recognition. Katrina Schlenker and Allie Zealand both collected Second Team All-America honors. Schlenker placed 13th in the women’s steeplechase with a program-record of 9:45.90, while Zealand finished 16th in the women’s 1,500 with a time of 4:11.21. Christian Hicks earned All-America recognition after a 10th-place finish in the men’s discus with a personal-best throw of 60.09m.
 
MTSU’s Mustapha Bokpin earned First Team All-America honors in the 100 and 200m races. Bokpin finished fourth in the 200m clocking in 20.04 and placed 6th in the 100m with a time of 9.99.
