Kylee Hanson Named NFCA All-American

BOCA RATON, Fla. – Florida Atlantic University's Kylee Hanson has been named a NFCA Second Team All-American. She is just the second softball player in FAU history to earn the honor, joining Nikki Myers, who was a two-time All-American.

Hanson finished the year with a 28-5 record and leads the nation in ERA (0.76), shutouts (15) and hits per seven innings (3.33). The latest honor comes after Hanson was named the Conference USA Pitcher of the Year. She also was a First-Team All-Region selection.

The junior from Jupiter, Fla. earned Conference USA Pitcher of the Week seven times during the season and was named National Player of the Week by both ESPNW and NFCA and ended her junior season second in school history in career ERA, opponent batting average and strikeouts per seven innings, trailing only Myers in each category.

"Kylee has worked very hard and certainly earned the recognition she has received," said head softball coach Joan Joyce. "She had as good a season as anyone in the country."

Florida Atlantic finished the 2016 season with a 51-9 record. The Owls set a school record by winning 21-consecutive game and swept the C-USA regular-season and tournament titles. FAU advanced to its second-straight NCAA Regional in 2016.
