AUSTIN, Texas – Liberty outfielder
Rachel Roupe was named to the 2025 Academic All-America® First Team, selected by College Sports Communicators and announced Tuesday. She becomes the first CUSA student-athlete to land on the First Team since 2018 (Haley Pace, Charlotte).
The Academic All-America nod adds to a laundry list of awards, records and milestones achieved by Roupe in her legendary senior season, including a pair of Second-Team All-America recognitions, NFCA All-Mid Atlantic Region First Team and CUSA Player of the Year.
During league play, Roupe set a CUSA record for most RBI (39), tied the record for most home runs (13) and led the league in seven offensive categories, including batting average (.486), OPS (1.745), runs (27) and doubles (10).
She was a constant force from the No. 2 spot in the lineup, helping Liberty become the first CUSA team since 2016 to reach the Super Regionals. Roupe held down the right-field position for the Lady Flames (50-15), finishing the year with a .987 fielding percentage. A recipient of a Rawlings Gold Glove, she recorded four outfield assists and committed just one error on the year.
Roupe ranked fifth nationally in total bases (166), seventh in home runs (23) and 11
th in doubles (19) and RBI (73). She posted the second-most RBI in a single season (73) in CUSA history, and her 23 home runs and 166 total bases were the third-most in a season in the league’s record book. Roupe also finished the year ranked 23
rd in the country in slugging percentage (.851).
She tallied 24 multi-hit games, including each of the team’s three matchups with No. 1 Texas A&M in the Bryan-College Station Regional. Roupe also racked up 20 multi-RBI performances, including nine RBI on three home runs in the two games against the Aggies on May 18. She hit a grand slam in the first regional final game before homering twice in the night cap to stun the No. 1 squad.
