WBK: InTouch Credit Union All-Academic Team Announced

IRVING, Texas – Conference USA's commitment to excellence on the court and in the classroom continues to show as six student-athletes have been named to the 2017 InTouch Credit Union Conference USA Women’s Basketball All-Academic Team. Five programs are represented on the exclusive list that is voted up on by the league’s communications directors.

NIKOLINA TODOROVIC, FIU

Todorovic received her double-major undergraduate degree in three years and is on pace to earn her graduate degree by the summer of 2017. She speaks five languages fluently and is conversant in three others. She is averaging 1.5 points and 1.6 rebounds as FIU’s primary defensive stopper on the perimeter. Following the completion of her graduate degree, she intends to work in international marketing.

ABBEY SISSOM, MIDDLE TENNESSEE

Sissom retains a 3.76 GPA in pre-physical therapy and exercise science. On the court, Sissom has seen action in all 27 games, including 26 starts for defending C-USA champ Middle Tennessee. She is the squad’s top perimeter defender and third-leading scorer at 9.6 points per game. She has pieced together nine double-figure scoring games, including a career-high 21 in a win over Tulane.

DEANNA KUZMANIC, UAB
Sophomore, Mount Prospect, Illinois
3.94, Mathematics, Minor in STEM Education

Kuzmanic has seen action in all of UAB’s contests in 2016-17. She has started every game of her career and averages 9.3 points and 3.4 rebounds per game. The sophomore posted a 4.0 GPA in fall of 2016 and has led the team in volunteer hours during all three semesters she has been at UAB. She was named to the 2016 C-USA All-Freshman Team and was a 2016 C-USA Academic Medal recipient, given to those C-USA student-athletes who have achieved a cumulative GPA of 3.75 or better. She was also named to the 2016 C-USA Commissioner’s Honor Roll (3.0 or higher).

LORYN GOODWIN, UTSA
RS Junior, Houston, Texas          
3.69, Multidisciplinary Studies

Goodwin leads her squad with a C-USA fourth-best 17.6 points per game and has scored in double digits 20 times this season, including a career-best 37 in the season opener against Angelo State. As far as C-USA awards go, she was tabbed C-USA Player of the Week on Jan. 30 and has been named to the weekly honor roll twice. The redshirt junior upholds a 3.69 GPA in multidisciplinary studies.

KENDALL NOBLE, WKU
RS Senior, Hazard, Ky.
3.65, Exercise Science

Noble has started in every game this season for the Lady Toppers. She was both a 2016 CoSIDA Academic All-America selection and 2016 C-USA All-Academic Team member. She was named the 2016-17 C-USA Preseason Player of the Year and is the only Division I player in the nation averaging 15.0 points, 5.5 rebounds, 5.0 assists and 2.5 steals. She has scored or assisted on 37.3 percent of WKU's points this season and 42.8 percent in C-USA play. She is the only player in school history with 1,500 points, 750 rebounds and 500 assists. Noble holds a 3.65 GPA in exercise science.

MICAH JONES, WKU
RS Senior, Greensburg, Ky.
3.92, Biology

Jones has appeared in every game for WKU and is a three-time CoSIDA Academic All-District selection, WKU’s only player in program history honored with the accolades in three separate years. Jones was a 2015 C-USA All-Academic Team member, and she returned to the court this season after missing all but two games in 2015-16 due to injury. The Kentucky native owns the top assist-turnover ratio in C-USA and ranks second in the nation at 3.69. Jones maintains a 3.92 GPA in biology.
