DALLAS – Following standout performances this past week, UTSA OF Chase Keng and Florida Atlantic RHP Nicholas Del Prado brought home C-USA baseball’s weekly awards, the league announced on Monday. Keng was a big part of UTSA’s successful weekend series win at home over UAB, hitting .615, with two home runs, two doubles and driving in four on his way to Hitter of the Week honors. Del Prado was strong on Saturday afternoon for the Owls, tossing a complete game, allowing just one run, to complete the sweep at Marshall to earn Pitcher of the Week. The 2022 C-USA Players of the Week awards are presented by Surf & Turf Golf.
 
HITTER OF THE WEEK
CHASE KENG, UTSA
SENIOR, OF, DEER PARK, TEXAS
Keng posted a slash line of .615/.643/.1.231 across his final three games at Roadrunner Field, going 8-for-13 with four extra base hits consisting of a pair of doubles and a pair of home runs in a series win over UAB. The Deer Park, Texas, native went 5-for-5 in Thursday’s series-opening contest, matching a school record for most hits in a single game. Keng finished the weekend with four RBI, pushing his season total to 56. Keng blasted the walk-off home run in Saturday’s contest against the Blazers, which pushed the lead to 10 runs on a travel day.
 
PITCHER OF THE WEEK
NICHOLAS DEL PRADO, FLORIDA ATLANTIC
SOPHOMORE, RHP, MIAMI, FLA.
Del Prado spun a complete game on Saturday, allowing just one run on five scattered hits in the series finale against Marshall. The Miami native set a new career-high with 10 strikeouts, and only walked a pair. Del Prado had never pitched more than 6.2 innings in his career prior to Saturday’s stellar outing.
