Blenders Eyewear. Middle Tennessee’s
Leonie Beu and
John Sherman commenced the 2024 season with notable running performances at the Ed Temple Classic in Nashville to earn Track Athlete of the Week honors.
CUSA Female Track Athlete of the Week – Leonie Beu, MTSU, Sr., Papua New Guinea
After wrapping up last year’s indoor season at the 2023 CUSA Championship with a runner-up finish in the women’s distance medley relay, Beu’s momentum has not slowed down. The senior picked up a win last weekend with a time of 60.00 seconds in the 400-meter dash.
CUSA Male Track Athlete and Freshman of the Week – John Sherman, MTSU, Fr., Lavergne, Tenn.
In his already impressive debut campaign, Sherman ushered in the season by collecting two of the league’s weekly awards. The Lavergne, Tennessee, native picked up two wins last weekend in the 55-meter dash with a time of 6.38 seconds, and the 200-meter dash, rounding the track in 22.52.
