ITF: Two CUSA Athletes Earn First Team All-America Honors at NCAA Indoor Championships

DALLAS – Kennesaw State’s Kali Terza and Liberty’s Allie Zealand have earned First Team All-America honors following impressive performances at the NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships in Fayetteville, Arkansas this weekend. The Owls’ Chance Cross and the Flames’ Gilles Ouedraogo picked up honors as well, each being named Second Team All-America.
 
Terza and Zealand were named First Team All-America after finishing in the top eight of their respective events. In the women’s weight throw, Terza finished eighth overall with a mark of 22.18 meters (72-9.25). She is the first female in Kennesaw State history to earn First Team All-American in that event.
 
Zealand, who entered the championship ranked ninth, turned in a strong race to finish fifth overall with a time of 8:45.12. She collected her first All-America medal on the track and her second overall.
 
Cross was named Second Team All-America after finishing 13th in the 60m with a time of 6.62 seconds, making him the first KSU sprinter to earn All-American at the NCAA Indoor Championships.
 
In the triple jump, Ouedraogo finished 12th after recording a mark of 16.07 meters (52-8.75) to earn Second Team All-America recognition. He is the Flames’ first ever All-American triple jumper.
