BSB: Conference USA Announces All-Academic Team

DALLAS – Conference USA tabbed 11 student-athletes to its 2024 CUSA Baseball All-Academic Team Friday afternoon. All nine schools are represented, led by FIU with three selections and DBU and Liberty with two.
 
All 11 student-athletes garner their first all-academic recognition. FIU’s Ryan Cabarcas, Ryne Guida and Cameron Knox, Liberty’s Todd Hudson, LA Tech’s Slade Netterville, MTSU’s Eston Snider and NM State’s Mitch Namie all produced a 3.90 GPA or better.
 
Sam Houston’s Logan Hewitt maintained a perfect 4.0 GPA while pursuing his MBA in Business Administration. Hewitt has appeared in 23 games for the Bearkats in relief, producing a 4.15 ERA in 43.1 innings with 50 strikeouts and two saves. DBU’s Grant Jay and Ryan Johnson and Liberty’s Cam Foster each earned nods while playing pivotal roles in their team’s success in 2024.
 
The 2024 CUSA Baseball Championship will be held May 22-26 in Ruston, La. Championship action begins with a four-game slate starting at 9 a.m. CT on Wednesday.
