WGOLF: Jax State Under Par on Day One of CUSA Championship

ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. - Day one of the 2025 Conference USA Women's Golf Championship opened with Jax State firing an opening round under par at the World Golf Village Slammer and Squire Golf Course. Jax State’s Lara El Chaib and NM State’s Emma Bunch and Angela Garvin are all tied individually for first place, shooting three-under 69.
 
The Gamecocks shot 1-under 287 to take a one-stroke lead on the par-72 course. Kanokrat “Rebekka” Stutley (-1) and Paula Perez Cubinas (E) joins El Chaib in the top-10 as they enter round two in sixth and ninth place, respectively. FIU is in second place after finishing with a 288. Hoi Ki Lau led the way for the Panthers, shooting 2-under 70, while Catalina Harvey (E) and Karissa Kilby (E) also had strong performances.
 
Tuesday's second round is set to begin at 7:30 a.m. ET as the teams at the top look to build separation, and the remainder of the field looks to push themselves back into contention.
