LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Conference USA placed seven student-athletes on the 2025 NFCA Division I All-Region Teams, announced by the organization Saturday. NFCA member head coaches from each respective region nominated and voted on teams.
Liberty led the way with four all-region selections, including two members of the Mid-Atlantic All-Region First Team in outfielders
Rachel Roupe and
KK Madrey. The Lady Flames were represented on the second team by pitcher
Elena Escobar and infielder
Savanah Whatley.
Roupe earned CUSA Player of the Year honors after she set a CUSA record for most RBI (39), tied the record for most home runs (13) and led the league in seven offensive categories, including batting average (.486), OPS (1.745), runs (27) and doubles (10) in league play.
Madrey finished second only to Roupe in batting average in CUSA action (.430) and ranked in the top 10 in on-base percentage (.477), runs (25) and hits (34). She was also a threat on the bases, ranking sixth nationally in stolen bases per game (0.81), converting 48-52 tries and 24-26 against conference foes.
The CUSA Pitcher of the Year, Escobar was lights out throughout conference play with a perfect 12-0 record and league-leading figures in ERA (1.33) and opposing batting average (.168). In her first season with Liberty, Whatley finished the regular season seventh in CUSA in on-base percentage (.462) and 10
th in batting average (.354)
NM State’s
Desirae Spearman and
Faith Aragon occupied the first and second team spots at utility/pitcher, respectively, on the All-Central Region Teams.
Spearman ranked second only to Roupe in OPS in league play (1.560) and tied with Roupe for the 14
th-most home runs in the nation (20). She ranks fifth nationally in on-base percentage (.606) and slugging (.977). In the circle, she went 11-8 with a 3.54 ERA and struck out 118 batters in 114.2 innings.
Aragon pitched in 29 games and finished 12-9 with a 3.87 ERA and struck out 86 batters in 126.2 innings. In the box, she hit .282 with six doubles, 28 runs and 23 walks.
Jax State outfielder
Emma Elrod is the lone CUSA player on the All-South Region lists and earns second-team honors. During conference play, she tied for the league lead with 10 doubles and ranked second in hits (37) and fourth in batting average (.407), slugging (.780), OPS (1.251) and runs (24). Elrod ranked 15
th nationally in hits (77) on the year.
