Day One PDF Results
MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – The 2025 Conference USA Outdoor Track and Field Championships began competition on Friday at the Dean A. Hayes Track & Soccer Stadium, hosted by Middle Tennessee. The opening day of competition featured the beginning of multi-events, a slate of field events, running prelims and the 10,000-meter final.
KSU currently leads on the men’s side with a day one total of 47.5 points, followed by Liberty with 27 points and Louisiana Tech with 14 points. FIU tops the leaderboard for the women with 30.5 points. UTEP sits in second place with 22 points and Liberty follows with 21.5 points.
Championship Central
The day started with five decathlon events. Liberty’s
Daniel Van Duren leads the field with 3,695 points after a first-place finish in the heptathlon’s 100-meter dash. Two fellow Flames follow closely behind Van Duren –
Gabriel Willis sits in second place after securing victories in both the long jump and high jump, while
Hunter Bleam holds third in the heptathlon, following a first-place finish in shot put. The men’s decathlon will continue tomorrow, starting at 9 a.m. CT with the men’s 110 hurdles.
After the first four of seven women’s heptathlon events, Liberty’s
Meredith Engle, holds the lead in the heptathlon with 3,269 points. Engle finished first in the heptathlon high jump and shot put. Her teammate
Patasha Bryan trails closely in second place with 3,240 points after capturing a win in the heptathlon 200m. Kennesaw State’s
Laysha Tunti concludes day one of the heptathlon with 2,989 points, highlighted by a first-place finish in the 100m.
Sam Houston’s
Nia Thompson finished first in the women’s long jump with a mark of 6.23m, while FIU’s
Michaelle Valentin took home first in the women’s hammer throw with a mark of 66.37m.
In the remaining field events of the day, Kennesaw State’s
Kaelen Mitchell claimed the men’s long jump title (7.90m), Louisiana Tech’s
Donald Lamp captured the men’s hammer throw title (62.02m) and UTEP’s
Alla Parnov secured the women’s pole vault title (4.02m).
Finishing almost two minutes ahead of the pack, Liberty senior
Adelyn Fairley dominated the women’s 10,000m with a time of 35:55.45. MTSU’s
Sandra Maiyo took home the silver medal and FIU’s
Lisa Redlinger took home the bronze medal.
To cap off the first day, KSU’s
Collins KipKemboi won the men’s 10,000m, recording a time of 30:35.56. Coming in behind him, fellow teammate
Brian Limo secured second place, while Liberty’s
Nicholas Kiprotich rounded out the podium in third.
