DALLAS – Fifteen Conference USA student-athletes punched their tickets to the 2025 NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championship following the East and West Preliminary meets this past weekend. The championships will be from Wednesday, June 11 through Saturday, June 14 at Hayward Field in Eugene, Oregon.
On the women’s side, CUSA will be represented by eight student-athletes in seven events. Kennesaw State’s
Kali Terza and Liberty’s
Paola Bueno will both compete in the women’s hammer throw. Terza landed a career-best toss of 66.75m to finish in third place, while Bueno threw for 65.73m and finished in fifth place.
Emma Sullivan of Kennesaw State will join Terza in Eugene, competing in the women’s 800m. She clocked in a personal-best time of 2:01.71 for an eighth-place finish to advance. Liberty’s
Allie Zealand earned a spot in the women’s 1500m after posting a time of 4:09.76 in the East Preliminary.
FIU’s
Michaelle Valentin qualified to compete in the women’s discus with a 54.73m mark and a ninth-place finish. Teammate,
Arndis Oskardottir will compete in the women’s javelin as she threw for 54.99m and finished in fourth place.
UTEP will see both
Marissa Simpson and
Loubna Benhadja compete at the NCAA Championships. Simpson advanced in the women’s 100m hurdles with a time of 12.90, while Benhadja punched her ticket in the 400m hurdles clocking in a personal-best 56.77.
On the men’s side, seven will represent CUSA in Eugene. On the track, Kennesaw State’s
Chance Cross will compete in the men’s 100m dash after posting a ninth-place finish with a time of 10.09. Sam Houston’s 4x100m relay team consisting of
Xzamion Parker, Javian Johnson, Jayden Jones and
Tyriq Burns turned in a time of 39.32 to advance.
LA Tech's
Oscar Smith will compete in the men's 110m hurdles after finishing third overall at the NCAA East Regional, clocking in a time of 13.42. Liberty’s
Kellen Kimes rounds out the competitors as he punched his ticket to Eugene in the men’s hammer with a throw of 65.02m on his second attempt.
