OTF: Kennesaw State Men, Liberty Women Capture Outdoor Track & Field Titles

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – The 2025 Conference USA Outdoor Track and Field Championship mimicked the 2025 Indoor Track and Field Championship with the Lady Flames taking the women’s title and the Owls claiming the men’s title.
 
Highlights for the Lady Flames on day two include an individual title from freshman Allie Zealand in the women’s 1500m (4:19.54). Liberty also had six top-three finishes in Addilae Watts in women’s javelin (2nd, 49.31m), Marie Hostetler in the women’s 1500m (3rd, 4:22.67), Indea Cartwright in the women’s 100m hurdles (2nd, 13.66), Reese Webster (2nd, 11.37) and Akilah Lewis in the women’s 100m (3rd, 11.44), Kate Goodyear in the women’s 800m (2nd, 2:04.36) and Adelyn Fairley in the women’s 5000m (2nd, 16:52.96). The Liberty women totaled 178.5 points, putting the Flames 61.5 points over the Miners of UTEP.

The Miners last day of competition was featured by seven first-place victories including UTEP’s 4x100 relay team in Addison Stricklin, Marissa Simpson, Denae McFarlane and Rejoice Sule. UTEP’s Loubna Benhadja also tied the meet record for the women’s 400m hurdles with a time of 56.89. The remainder of individual wins for UTEP were Esther Osisike in women’s discus, Praise Djoma in women’s triple jump, Simpson in women’s 100m hurdles and Sule in the women’s 100m and 200m.
 
Highlights for the Owls consist of four first place finishes in Mohamed Diaby in the men’s 110 hurdles, Eric Young II in the men’s 400m, Chance Cross in the men’s 100m, Brian Limo in the men’s 5000m. KSU also racked up six top-three wins with Aidan Boyd in men’s javelin (2nd, 60.48m), Justin Campbell (2nd, 15.42m) and Lloyd Hill Jr. (3rd, 15.41m) in men’s triple jump, the men’s 4x100 with Cross, Xavier Paris, Nicholas Mabilo, Young II (3rd, 39.40), Jeremiah Sims in men’s 110 hurdles (3rd, 13.86) and Collins KipKemboi in men’s 5000m (2nd, 14:16.93). It was a close fight between the Flames and Owls for the men’s title, but KSU pulled out a victory 5.5 points ahead of Liberty.
 
The Flames did not go down without a fight, as they earned four first place victories in Christian Hicks in men’s discus, Joshua Smith in men’s triple jump, Josh Blalock in the men’s 400m hurdles, while Eddy Vu, Omari Lewis, Revell Webster and Troy McKnight captured first in the men’s 4x100 relay.
 
The Women’s High Point Meet Scorer went to Sule from UTEP with 23.75 points. The Men’s High Point Scorer went to Hicks from Liberty with 20 points. Liberty’s Bethany Tate earned the women’s Freshman of the Meet Award, while fellow Flame Elijah Sherard claimed the Freshman of the Meet for men.
