ITF: January 20 Athletes of the Week

DALLAS –  Middle Tennessee’s Mustapha Bokpin and Evan Tomlinson, Liberty’s Markus White and Mahogany Mobley, Kennesaw State’s Myesha Hall and Jacksonville State’s Claudia Marquez have earned Conference USA Indoor Track Athlete of the Week honors.
 
Men's Track Athlete of the Week - Mustapha Bokpin, MTSU - So. – Accra, Grater Accra, Ghana
Bokpin showed out for Middle Tennessee at the Vanderbilt Invitational. He kicked off the meet with a first-place finish in the 200 with a mark of 20.99; he is now just one of 11 athletes in the nation to run sub-21 seconds and is tied for 10th best in Division I in that event. He then secured a second-place finish in the 60 with a time of 6.62, tying him for 14th in the nation. The weekend ended with the 4x400 relay where MTSU finished second with a time of 3:10.91. The sophomore holds the fastest times in Conference USA in the 60 and the 200 and was a part of the Blue Raider relay team that currently holds the fastest 4x400 finish. This is his second Athlete of the Week honor this season.
 
Men's Field Athlete of the Week - Markus White, Liberty - Redshirt So. - Lynchburg, Va.
White was the Virginia Tech Invitational men's long jump runner-up with an indoor personal-best leap of 24-11.25 (7.60m). That mark ranks first in CUSA and 21st nationally this season.  He now also sits No. 3 in program history for the Flames.
 
Men's Freshman of the Week - Evan Tomlinson, MTSU - Fr. – Jonesborough, Tenn.
Tomlinson had an impressive showing at the Vanderbilt Invitational, starting the weekend with a fifth-place finish out of a competitive field of 51 in the 200 with a time of 21.87. He went on to finish 11th in the semi-finals of the 60 with a personal best time of 6.89 and was part of the second-place 4x400 relay team that finished with a time of 3:10.91. Tomlinson now holds the fastest mark of all freshmen in Conference USA in the 200, the second fastest mark of all freshmen in the conference in the 60m and was a part of the Blue Raider relay team who holds the fastest 4x400 time.
 
Women's Track Athlete of the Week - Mahogany Mobley, Liberty - Redshirt Sr. - Hampton, Ga.
Competing at the Virginia Tech Invitational, Mobley came in fourth in the women's 200 (indoor personal-best 24.72), second in the 300 (Liberty program-record 38.67) and second in the 4x400 relay (3:43.45). The 300 effort broke her own program record, leads CUSA and sits No. 78 nationally. Mobley also posted the Lady Flames' fastest 4 x 400 split (54.48) as the anchor, leading to the No. 2 time in CUSA this season and the Lady Flames' fastest indoor 4 x 400 clocking since 2020. She now ranks fifth on this year's CUSA 200 list.
 
Women's Field Athlete of the Week - Myesha Hall, Kennesaw State - Sr. - Vidalia, Ga.
Hall won the long jump at the Vanderbilt Invitational on Friday with a leap of 6.13m (20'1.5"). Her mark ranks fourth in program history, leads CUSA and ranks 39th in the NCAA this season. The senior’s mark placed her ahead of jumpers from multiple power-four schools and conference foes.
 
Women's Freshman of the Week - Claudia Marquez, Jax State - Fr. - Motril, Spain
Marquez competed in her first collegiate indoor meet at the Samford Invitational in which she finished second in the women's 800 with a time of 2:12.33. The mark gave Marquez the second-fastest time in school history in the event, along with the 80th fastest time in NCAA Division I Indoor events so far this season. She currently holds the fastest 800 time among CUSA freshman. Marquez also competed in the women's 4x400 relay in which the group finished in fifth place out of 14 schools, posting a time of 4:01.70.
