DALLAS – Fourteen Conference USA student-athletes were selected in the 2025 MLB Draft highlighted by DBU flamethrower
James Ellwanger and CUSA Player of the Year
Ryan Wideman. The standouts were both selected on night one in the third round of the draft. Ellwanger was taken 88
th overall by the Minnesota Twins, while Wideman was selected 99
th overall by the San Diego Padres.
DBU paced the league with five selections, while Liberty, FIU, and Jax State each had a pair of selections in the draft. WKU, Kennesaw State and LA Tech landed one in the 20-round draft. Six of the 14 draft picks came in the top 10 rounds.
