DALLAS – Delaware’s Lilli Lubic, UTEP’s Ashlynn Neireiter and Liberty’s Ainsley Leja earned Conference USA Women’s Soccer Player of the Week honors.
 
Offensive Player of the Week – Lilli Lubic, Delaware – Freshman – Ashburn, Va.
Lubic becomes the second Blue Hen (5-0-1) in the first three weeks of the season to garner CUSA Offensive Player of the Week honors. The freshman midfielder boasted a multi-goal weekend to guide Delaware to a 1-0-1 week against Towson and UMBC. In Thursday’s trip to Towson, Lubic scored the equalizer that secured a 2-2 draw on the road. In Sunday’s triumph over UMBC, she netted the lone goal in the 64^th minute. The Blue Hens’ 5-0-1 record through six matches is the best start since the 2006 campaign.
 
Defensive Player of the Week – Ashlynn Neireiter, UTEP – Junior – Beaumont, Texas
Neireiter anchored a UTEP (2-3-1) defense that allowed only one goal in two contests on the week. She also provided the match-winner on a header off a corner kick that lifted the Miners past Tarleton State, 1-0. The junior from Beaumont, Texas, played in all 180 minutes of action and helped UTEP dictate the pace of play that resulted in a 44-11 advantage for shots and 20-4 for shots on goal.
 
Goalkeeper of the Week – Ainsley Leja, Liberty – Redshirt Senior – Rockford, Mich.
Leja was dominant in net for the Flames (3-1-2) as she takes home CUSA Goalkeeper of the Week after a draw with No. 24 Virginia Tech and a road shutout over Old Dominion. Liberty hosted yet another top 25 foe in Virginia Tech as Leja stood strong in allowing just one goal in a 1-1 draw with the Hokies. On Sunday, the redshirt senior completed her first shutout of the season with a 1-0 win over Old Dominion in Norfolk, Va. Leja totaled four saves on the week and carries a .944 goals against average.
