Valerie Guha earned the first Conference USA Women’s Soccer Player of the Week honors of the 2025 season.
Offensive Player of the Week – Maggie Groh, Delaware – Junior – York, Pa.
Groh opened her junior campaign in impressive fashion, notching two goals in the season opener for the Blue Hens (2-0) against Mount St. Mary’s and one more in Sunday’s 2-1 triumph over Bucknell. In Thursday’s 5-2 win, Groh tallied two goals, including the game-winning goal and an assist. The forward from York, Pa., totaled eight points and recorded one assist in each of the contests. Groh scored the first goal of the match on Sunday versus Bucknell and was credited with the game-winning assist.
Defensive Player of the Week – Lauren Littleton, Liberty – Junior – Friendswood, Texas
Littleton was named Defensive Player of the Week after a superb opening weekend on the back line for the Lady Flames (1-0-1). Liberty took down the reigning AAC champions, East Carolina, 3-1 with the lone goal coming on a penalty kick in the 88
th minute. On Sunday, the Flames came back to draw with in-state rival and defending Sun Belt champions, James Madison. The CUSA Preseason Defensive Player of the Year saw action in 163 minutes in the two matches.
Goalkeeper of the Week – Valerie Guha, NM State – Redshirt Junior – Friedberg, Germany
Guha was strong in net for the Aggies in a 1-1 week against Colorado College and Abilene Christian. Despite a tough 2-1 loss to Colorado College to open the season, the redshirt junior totaled four saves. The Friedberg, Germany, native went on to collect a 1-0 shutout victory over Abilene Christian for their first win of the year on home turf. Guha collected five saves in the win on Sunday, giving her nine on the week which ranks her second in CUSA after two contests.
