DALLAS – Following standout performances over the weekend, Louisiana Tech first baseman Trey Hawsey and Jax State left-hander Steven Cash earned CUSA weekly honors.
 
CUSA Hitter of the Week – Trey Hawsey, LA Tech – So. – INF – West Monroe, La.
Hawsey claims CUSA Hitter of the Week honors after a monster week at the plate for the Bulldogs (7-1). The sophomore slugger led the squad with a .533 (8-15) batting average with five RBI, including a stellar .636 average during the Grind City Classic in Memphis, Tenn., over the weekend. Hawsey ripped two doubles and belted his first homer of the season in two wins over Ohio State. In their 8-5 win against Memphis, he went 2-4 with two runs and a RBI. The West Monroe, La., native boasts a .393 average on the season with a 1.071 OPS.
 
CUSA Pitcher of the Week – Steven Cash, Jax State – Sr. – LHP – Centreville, Ala.
Cash was money on the hill for the Gamecocks (5-2) in his Saturday start against Toledo. The senior southpaw bounced back after a rough opening weekend outing with 6.2 scoreless innings of work and striking out nine. Five of the nine batters fanned went down looking. Cash gave up only two hits and did not allow a base runner past second base in the 2-1 win. The Centreville, Ala., native tossed the 100^th strikeout of his career in the top of the third inning.
