DALLAS – Kennesaw State has earned three Conference USA Outdoor Track and Field awards following a competitive week of meets. Liberty picked up two honors and Middle Tennessee received one.
Men's Track Athlete of the Week – Mustapha Bokpin, MTSU – So. – Accra, Grater Accra, Ghana
At the Pepsi Florida Relays, Bokpin ran the men's 200 meters, placing third in his heat and fifth overall with a personal best time of 20.81. With that time, he is now ranked third in CUSA and is tied No. 43 in the NCAA. On day two, the sophomore added another personal best in the men's 100 meters, finishing third with a time of 10.14. He now leads the conference in the 100 and is tied for tenth in the NCAA.
Women's Track Athlete of the Week – Emma Sullivan, Kennesaw State – Gr. – Dudley, Ma.
In the 800-meter run, Sullivan finished second in a strong field at the Florida Relays with a personal best time of 2:01.07. She finished ahead of runners from Florida, Vanderbilt and Auburn among other strong programs in her race. That time ranks first in CUSA, is tied for second in the NCAA East Region and is tied for third in the NCAA. This is her second outdoor track recognition this season.
Men's Field Athlete of the Week – Markus White, Liberty – Jr. – Lynchburg, Va.
White won the Florida Relays' men's long jump invite section with a program-record leap of 7.88m (25-10.25). That effort ranks No. 1 in CUSA and No. 6 nationally this season.
Women's Field Athlete of the Week – Kali Terza, Kennesaw State – Gr. – Woodstock, Ga.
For her second outdoor field honor, Terza won the hammer throw in a strong field at the Florida Relays with a personal-best toss of 69.05 meters (226-6). She beat throwers from Illinois, Auburn, Florida and Liberty among others in the event. That mark established a new school record, ranks first in CUSA by almost 27 feet and ranks No. 3 in the NCAA.
Men's Freshman of the Week – Cameron Dean, Kennesaw State – Fr. – College Park, Ga
Dean won the triple jump at the competitive Florida Relays with a personal-best leap of 15.53 meters (50-11.5). He defeated jumpers from Florida State, Pitt, USF and MTSU among others in the event. With that mark, he ranks first in CUSA and is tied No. 20 in the NCAA.
Women's Freshman of the Week – Isabella Frattura, Liberty – Fr. – Sparta, N.J.
Frattura placed fourth in the women's javelin at the Florida Relays with a mark of 50.62 meters (166-1), breaking her own program record. That mark ranks No. 2 in CUSA and No. 33 nationally this season. This is her second outdoor Freshman of the Week award.
