BIRMINGHAM, Ala. ----- The 2006 recruiting class for the UAB women's soccer program has been rated as the No. 2 class in Conference USA, according to Soccer Buzz Magazine.

The Blazers' group of Rachael Axon, Allison Auchter, Danya Barsalona, Danielle Blair, Kate Blankenship, Toni Goekel and Claire Palmer was ranked second in the league, only behind the '06 class signed by UCF.

"It's great to see our class being recognized as one of the top incoming classes in a league as strong as Conference USA," said head coach Paul Harbin. "This is a league that annually has six to seven teams with legitimate chances of earning an NCAA postseason tournament selection. (Assistant coach) Summer Perala has done a wonderful job of coordinating the recruitment of this group of incoming players and we are excited to have them coming on board to be a part of our program."
