MIAMI -- Conference USA women's soccer student-athletes visited with local elementary students at Dr. Carlos Final Elementary in Miami on Thursday as part of C-USA's continued efforts towards excellence in athletics, academics and community outreach.
Student-athletes from C-USA Championship host FIU as well as the four C-USA Championship semifinal teams Marshall, Middle Tennessee, North Texas and Old Dominion spent the afternoon with youth in the elementary's after-school program. The C-USA student-athletes divided the kids in to groups and taught them soccer fundamentals with drills and games. At the end of the session, children got autographs from their favorite players.
The Conference USA Women's Soccer Championship semifinal are Friday. Top-seeded North Texas will face No. 5 seed Middle Tennessee is the 4:30 p.m. EST semifinal, followed by No. 2 seed Marshall and No. 6 seed Old Dominion in the 7 p.m. EST game. Both semifinal games will be streamed on the Conference USA Digital Network.
