WSOC: 2021 All-Academic Teams Announced

DALLAS – Conference USA tabbed 22 student-athletes to its 2021 C-USA First and Second Women’s Soccer All-Academic Team Friday afternoon. 13 schools are represented with Rice, UAB and Old Dominion each having three student athletes earn sports on the lists, while Charlotte, FIU, FAU, Louisiana Tech, Southern Miss, WKU, North Texas and UTSA are highlighted as well.
 
Student-athletes honored all had at least a 3.7 GPA and featured majors in Business Administration, Civil Engineering, Accounting, Public Health, Physical Education, Kinesiology, Leisure, Sport & Tourism Management, Biology, Rehabilitation and Recreational Therapy, Marketing and Tourism Management and Psychology. Two graduates were chosen who are currently pursuing master’s degrees at their respective universities.
 
Peyton DePriest of Middle Tennessee has been an All-Academic selection on four occasions, as she holds a 4.0 GPA in her Leisure, Sport and Tourism Management/Sport Industry Master’s Program. DePriest, previously was First Team All-Academic honoree in both 2018 and 2020 and Second Team All-Academic in 2019.
 
Three First Team selections have earned All-Academic honors in previous years, in Charlotte junior Julia Patrum, who holds a 3.872 GPA as a Psychology major with a minor in Biology, FIU’s Sydney Amparo, as she has a 4.0 GPA in Rehabilitation and Recreational Therapy and UAB senior Stella Kiss, who is studying Accounting, earned both the C-USA Commissioner’s Academic Medal and C-USA Commissioner’s Honor Roll during her sophomore and junior year.

Additionally, both WKU junior Katie Erwin, who holds a 4.0 GPA as a Civil Engineering major and Old Dominion senior Emily Roberts, currently receiving a 3.77 as a Physical Education major, have previously earned Second Team All-Academic honors in their careers.
 
The 2021 Conference USA Women’s Soccer Championship will be held November 1-7 in Boca Raton, Florida.
