MSOC: United Soccer Coaches Announce All-American Teams

DALLAS – A trio of players from Conference USA were named 2021 United Soccer Coaches All-Americans on Thursday. Kentucky goalkeeper Jan Hoffelner earned first-team all-American honors, while Marshall midfielders Pedro Dolabella and Vitor Dias were named to the second team and third team, respectively.

Hoffelner continues to add to his list of accolades for the season with this honor. The graduate transfer earned C-USA Goalkeeper of the Year, the conference’s Golden Glove Award and all-tournament team honors. A native of Germany, Hoffelner also leads the nation with a goals-against average of 0.417 and is tied for the lead in shutouts (12).

As for Marshall, the Conference USA Player of the Year, Dolabella was named the league's Offensive MVP and earned first-team all-region from United Soccer Coaches earlier this week. Dias earned third-team distinction in 2021, following his first team selection a year ago. He was also an all-conference selection and was C-USA Co-Midfielder of the Year. Dias and Dolabella are also invited to the Major League Soccer College Showcase to take place December 10-12 in Cary, North Carolina, as a part of the 2021 NCAA Men’s College Cup.
