DALLAS – Two student-athletes from Conference USA were chosen in the 2022 Major League Soccer (MLS) Draft on Tuesday, as Marshall defender
Nathan Dossantos went to the Orlando City SC as the 46th pick while his teammate, midfielder
Victor Dias was drafted by the Vancouver Whitecaps in the 86th spot.
Dossantos appeared in 36 matches with 35 starts in his two seasons with Marshall recording one goal and two assists. During this past 2021 season, he was one of two players to start in all 18 games while also becoming the first player in program history to be awarded the Conference USA Defensive MVP. The Canada native was also named to the 2021 United Soccer Coaches Southeast Region first team.
Dias finished his Herd career tied for seventh all-time in assists (15) to go along with 14 goals and 43 total points. He was the 2021 Conference USA Co-Midfielder of the Year, a United Soccer Coaches Third Team All-American and a First Team Southeast Region selection.
