DALLAS – Rice’s Santiago Navarro and FIU’s Oyinlomo Quadre were named Conference USA Tennis Athletes of the Week. The weekly awards are presented by Blenders Eyewear.

C-USA Men’s Tennis Athlete of the Week – Santiago Navarro, Rice, Fr., Santa Cruz, Bolivia
Navarro delivered two of the four points Rice needed to defeat No. 34 UTSA on Saturday. He teamed up with Campbell Simon to break the 5-5 deadlock and clinch the doubles point with a 7-5 win at the second line. In singles, he gave the Owls their only first-set win with a 7-4 tiebreaker. The freshman from Bolivia shook off a second-set loss and won his second tiebreak of the day 7-5. The win gave Rice their highest-ranked win since defeating No. 16 South Carolina in the 2017 Blue-Gray College Tennis Classic.
 
C-USA Women’s Tennis Athlete of the Week – Oyinlomo Quadre, FIU, Fr., Lekki, Nigeria 
Quadre pushed her 10-match singles streak after adding her 12th dual win of the season at FAU last Friday, while also moving to a team-high 15 dual doubles wins alongside teammate Yasmine Kabbaj, earning the duo a No. 84 ranking in the latest ITA National Rankings. The freshman collected her 13th doubles win at the No. 2 position, which secured the doubles point. Quadre recorded the clincher at No. 3 singles, 6-4, 6-3, enroute to a 6-1 team victory to close the regular season. She moved her record at No. 3 singles to 9-1, as she holds a 12-2 dual singles record on the season.
