DALLAS – Conference USA tabbed 12 student-athletes to its 2025 CUSA Men’s and Women’s Tennis All-Academic Teams Friday afternoon. Seven schools are represented with Jacksonville State and MTSU having three student-athletes earn spots on the list. NM State has two student-athletes, while Kennesaw State, Liberty, UTEP and WKU are highlighted as well.
On the men’s side, student-athletes all had over a 3.8 GPA and featured majors in Business Economics, Exercise Science, Finance and Psychology. Four of the six members earned all-academic honors for the second consecutive year.
Jax State’s
Matei Palcau has been selected to the All-Academic team for the second consecutive year as he holds a perfect 4.0 GPA as a junior student majoring in Computer Science and Business Economics. Palcau’s teammate,
Lucius Soller, earned a spot of the list for the first time in his career as he boasts a 3.83 GPA, double majoring in Accounting and Finance.
Mikolaj Lis became the first Kennesaw State tennis athlete to be recognized on the all-academic team. The sophomore from Poland has maintained a strong 3.88 GPA, while pursuing a degree in Exercise Science.
Liberty redshirt sophomore
Chase Robinson makes it back-to-back years on the CUSA All-Academic Team as he continues to shine in the classroom and on the court. The Spartanburg, S.C., native owns a 3.9 GPA, while studying Business Administration at Liberty University.
MTSU’s
Karim Al-Amin earned a nod as well after posting a 3.93 GPA while going after a degree in Psychology, Neuroscience and Entrepreneurship. The junior standout was CUSA Athlete of the Week back in February and is a two-time Doubles Team of the Week honoree in 2025. Al-Amin is ranked No. 51 with doubles partner Ondrej Horak in the latest ITA rankings.
Rounding out the 2025 men’s squad, NM State junior
Itay Feigin accumulated a near perfect 3.97 GPA, studying finance. Feigin is a two-time all-academic team member and has competed in all 22 matches this season for the Aggies in the No. 1 singles and doubles position.
For the women, all student-athletes recorded a 3.9 GPA or better. The collective majors included Visual Art, Exercise Physiology, Biomedical Science, Computer Science, Management and Business Data Analytics.
Returning to the All-Academic Team were seniors
Sofia Blanco from WKU and
Lisa Zhu from New Mexico State. Earning her third consecutive all-academic nod, Blanco received CUSA Athlete and Doubles Team of the Week honors this year, while holding a GPA of 3.91. Studying Computer Science, Zhu boasts a 3.96 GPA.
MTSU saw two athletes make the All-Academic Team in
Alessia Truden and
Rutuja Chaphalkar. Truden maintained a perfect 4.0 GPA, working on her Master’s in Exercise Physiology. The grad student has earned CUSA Athlete of the Week earlier in the season. Chaphalkar boasts a 3.96 GPA, while studying Visual Art.
Rounding out the women’s all-academic team is UTEP’s
Hanna Telzynska who owns a flawless 4.0 GPA as a sophomore studying Biomedical Science. Also clinching a spot on the list was Jax State’s
Irene Artigas Taberner, a junior pursuing a degree in Management with a 3.92 GPA.
The 2025 Conference USA Men’s and Women’s Championships will be held April 16-20 in Lynchburg, Va.
