DALLAS – Liberty’s Luis Felipe Miguel and FIU’s Oyinlomo Quadre had match-clinching outings and earned Conference USA Tennis Athletes of the Week, the league announced Wednesday. The weekly awards are presented by Blenders Eyewear. 

CUSA Men’s Tennis Athlete of the Week – Luis Felipe Miguel, Liberty, So., Goiania, Brazil
Miguel enjoyed an undefeated day on Saturday going 2-0 in doubles and 2-0 in singles play as the Flames collected two victories over James Madison and Longwood. The sophomore and his doubles partner, Matija Samardzic, faced a 4-2 deficit as they marched back to take the doubles point over JMU’s Edson Sanchez and Francisco Sinopoli. Miguel then handily took the match-winning fourth point on court No. 3 in straight sets (6-2, 6-2). The Brazil native played in his first career match in the No. 1 position, besting Longwood’s Timeo Puech, 7-5, 6-0.
 
CUSA Women’s Tennis Athlete of the Week – Oyinlomo Quadre, FIU, So., Lekki, Nigeria
Quadre picked up two victories over University of Florida and Wake Forest at the ITA Kick-Off last weekend. Both opponents were ranked. The sophomore downed the #23-ranked Emily De Oliveira from UF at the No. 1 singles slot (6-3, 6-0). The product of Lekki, Nigeria, provided the clinching point against UF with a back-and-forth 7-5, 5-7, 6-0 win to earn the match victory at odds with #42-ranked Casie Wooten.
