Taramonlis earned his first Athlete of the Week recognition after going a perfect two-for-two in singles against two Power 5 opponents over the weekend. In the first match, the redshirt senior defeated Virginia Tech’s Alberto Orso 6-2, 6-2. On Sunday, the Veria, Greece native, recorded a dominant singles’ win over Indiana’s Ilya Tiraspolsky (6-2, 6-1). He helped lead the Blue Raiders to a 1-1 showing and the two wins mark his fourth and fifth victories of the 2024 spring season.
CUSA Women’s Tennis Athlete of the Week – Maria Juliana Parra Romero, Liberty, Jr, Bucaramanga, Colombia
Parra Romero went 1-1 on Saturday in a 4-3 win over Delaware. She secured the match-winning fourth point in a singles match that lasted over three hours.
