DALLAS – Liberty’s Halle Engle and Lauren Littleton and FIU’s Valery Restrepo earned Conference USA Women’s Soccer Player of the Week honors.
 
Offensive Player of the Week – Halle Engle, Liberty – R-Sophomore – Mechanicsburg, Pa.
Engle put on a clinic in the Lady Flames’ (7-0-1) offensive charge over the weekend scoring both goals in their historic win over No. 21 Virginia Tech. The defeat of the Hokies marked Liberty’s first win over a ranked opponent in program history. Engle continues to shine in her redshirt sophomore campaign, leading CUSA in total goals (six) and points (13). She is one of 22 athletes in the nation with three game-winning goals and is the only CUSA athlete with three.
 
Defensive Player of the Week – Lauren Littleton, Liberty – Sophomore – Friendswood, Texas
Littleton played a vital role in Liberty’s (7-0-1) monster weekend on the pitch with a 2-1 triumph at No. 21 Virginia Tech and a 1-1 draw at West Virginia. The Lady Flames’ centerback was instrumental in causing the equalizing own goal in the final 10 minutes at West Virginia. The sophomore from Friendswood, Texas, has helped guide Liberty to the second-best goals against average in CUSA (.750).
 
Goalkeeper of the Week – Valery Restrepo, FIU – Sophomore – Envigado, Colombia
Restrepo earns her second CUSA weekly honor of the young season after standing strong in net for the Panthers (4-3) in Saturday’s 6-1 win over Southeastern Louisiana. The FIU keeper allowed zero goals and tallied two saves in her 77 minutes of action. Through seven games played, Restrepo has notched just over 606 minutes with the third-best goals against average among CUSA goalkeepers (.742).
