ITF: January 28 Athletes of the Week

DALLAS – Kennesaw State’s Mohamed Diaby, Kenadie Singleton and Akshana, WKU’s Sophia Roskoski, and Liberty’s Joshua Smith and Jack Holub have earned Conference USA Indoor Track & Field Athlete of the Week honors.  

Men’s Track Athlete of the Week – Mohamed Diaby – KSU – SO. – Columbus, Ga. 
Diaby earned his first conference weekly honor after a stellar performance at the Mark Colligan Memorial. Diaby won the men’s 200m with a time of 21.85 seconds. He also finished third in the men’s 60m hurdles, clocking a time of 8.01 seconds.

Women’s Track Athlete of the Week – Kenadie Singleton – KSU – SO. – Warner Robbins, Ga. 
Singleton won the women’s 60m at the Mark Colligan Memorial. The sophomore Owl recorded a time of 7.49 seconds, which ranks second in CUSA this season. She also finished second in the women’s 200m with a time of 25.29 seconds.

Men’s Field Athlete of the Week – Joshua Smith – Liberty – JR. – South Fulton, Ga. 
At the Brant Tolsma Invitational, Smith won the men’s triple jump with a mark of 49-2.5. The junior Flame also took eighth place in the men’s long jump with a leap of 22-11.75. Smith currently ranks No. 4 in CUSA for triple jump and No. 6 in long jump.

Women’s Field Athlete of the Week – Sophia Roskoski – WKU – SO. – Stillwater, Minn. 
Roskoski earned conference weekly honors after competing at the Bellarmine Classic. She won the women’s pole vault, clearing 3.97 meters (13-00 ¼). This marks the third best vault in program history.
 

Men’s Freshman Athlete of the Week – Jack Holub – Liberty – FR. – Parkersburg, Pa.
Racing in a Liberty uniform for the first time, Holub took home first in the men’s mile, among a field of 43 competitors. The freshman recorded a time of 4:15.64 at the Brant Tolsma Invitational, which ranks No. 9 in the conference and No. 2 among freshmen. 
 

Women’s Freshman of the Week – Akshana – KSU – FR. – West Bengal, India  
After her performance at the Mark Colligan Memorial, Akshana received conference weekly honors. The freshman Owl finished third in the women’s mile, recording a time of 4:50.49. This time ranks No. 4 in CUSA this season.
