Armelo Boone earned Conference USA Men’s Basketball weekly honors. The 2025-26 Players of the Week are voted on by the league’s sports information directors.
CUSA Player of the Week – Torey Alston, MTSU – R-So. – F – Durham, N.C.
Alston showcased a standout week as the Blue Raiders (7-4, 1-0 CUSA) claimed their first CUSA win of the season on Wednesday and a 16-point defeat on Cumberland on Sunday. The redshirt sophomore forward averaged 14.5 points and 9.5 boards in the pair of wins. In their conference opener against Kennesaw State, the Durham, N.C., native, set a career-high with six blocks, the best performance of a CUSA player this season. He finished the contest with 10 points and a team-high nine rebounds. On Sunday, Alston recorded his second double-double of the campaign with 19 points and 10 rebounds in a 74-58 win over Cumberland.
CUSA Freshman of the Week – Armelo Boone, WKU – Fr. – G – Lexington, Ky.
Boone claims his fourth weekly honor of the season after leading the Hilltoppers (7-4) to a 1-1 week, including a 43-point win over Campbellsville on Monday and a one-point loss to a strong Tulsa squad. The freshman guard averaged 17.0 points, 10.0 rebounds and 2.0 steals while shooting 14-28 from the floor and 6-7 from the charity stripe. Boone collected a career-high nine field goals made as he dropped 18 points in the monster win on Monday. He followed that up with his first career double-double, posting 16 points and a career-best 12 boards against Tulsa.
