CUSA Women’s Tennis Athlete of the Week – Ana Rodrigues, LA Tech – Sr. – Montes Claros, Brazil
Rodrigues went from 2-0 from the No. 1 position in singles this past week as the senior captain helped the Bulldogs claim home conference victories over New Mexico State and Sam Houston. After dropping the doubles point to the Aggies, her point in singles was much needed. Down 0-3 in the third set, she stormed back to defeat Anna Pinaieva 6-3, 2-6, 7-5 and clinch the match against NM State. The next day, Rodrigues provided one of the three singles points needed to shutout the Bearkats as she overpowered Nayuma Subba 6-1, 6-2 to extend her winning streak to seven matches.
