Men's Co-Track Athlete of the Week - Mustapha Bokpin, MTSU - So. – Accra, Grater Accra, Ghana
Claiming his third Athlete of the Week honor this season, Bokpin finished first in the 60m at the PNC Lenny Lyles Invite in a time of 6.586. This race marked a PR for the sophomore sprinter. He now holds the top 60m time in CUSA and is tied for the 11th fastest 60m time in NCAA Division I.
Men's Co-Track Athlete of the Week - Chance Cross, Kennesaw State - Sr. – Bogart, Ga.
Cross finished second in the 60m at the PNC Lenny Lyles Invitational with a personal best time of 6.590 seconds, just milliseconds from first place. His time established a new Kennesaw State record. That time is among the best of CUSA and tied for 11th in the NCAA this season. The senior also placed fourth in the 200m A-Division race, running 21.22 seconds to post the fourth-fastest time in program history.
Men's Field Athlete of the Week - Gilles Ouedraogo, Liberty - Jr. – Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso
Ouedraogo won the triple jump with a mark of 15.75m (51-8.25) at the Brant Tolsma Elite Invitational, breaking his own record that he had set the week before and claiming his second consecutive CUSA Field Athlete of the Week title. His mark ranks No. 1 in CUSA and is tied for No. 25 nationally this season.
Men's Freshman of the Week - Tahj Brown, Liberty - Fr. – Nassau, Bahamas
For the second straight meet to open his collegiate career, Brown won the men's 60m hurdles final with a new Liberty freshman record time of 7.92. That time ranks No. 1 in CUSA this season and sits No. 3 in program history for the Flames.
Women's Track Athlete of the Week - Allie Zealand, Liberty - So. – Forest, Va.
Zealand won the Brant Tolsma Elite Invitational women's mile invite in 4:28.89, shattering the program, facility and meet records. This time ranks No. 7 nationally and leads the conference by 14 seconds. To claim the win, Zealand defeated Sadie Engelhardt of NC State (ranked No. 6 in the NCAA for the event) head-to-head by nearly four seconds to win the race.
Women's Field Athlete of the Week - Patasha Bryan, Liberty - R-Sr. – Santa Rosa Beach, Fla.
Bryan finished as the pentathlon runner-up with a personal best score of 3,999 points. That mark ranks No. 1 in CUSA and No. 20 nationally this season while sitting No. 2 in program history. Her top pentathlon marks included a 1.68m (5-6) high jump and a new personal-best 5.67m (18-7.25) long jump. The next day of the Brant Tolsma Elite Invite, she helped the Lady Flames win the 4x400m relay in a meet-record time of 3:41.83, good for No. 3 in CUSA this year and No. 3 in program history.
Women's Freshman of the Week - Itsaso Madariaga Huegun, FIU - Fr.- Spain
In just her second collegiate meet, Itsaso Madariaga Huegun broke the school record in the pentathlon with a score of 3,848 points. The record was initially set in 2022 by assistant coach Fabiola Declet. Madariaga Huegun’s performance placed her second in the pentathlon at the Dr. Rick McGuire Invitational, outperforming all other freshmen in the event and finishing just behind the event leader, Missouri's Brianna Utecht. She is now ranked No. 2 in CUSA and No. 44 in the NCAA.
