DALLAS – Missouri State’s Michael Osei-Bonsu, Sam Houston’s Po’Boigh King and Kennesaw State’s Trey Simpson earned Conference USA Men’s Basketball weekly honors. The 2025-26 Players of the Week are voted on by the league’s sports information directors.
 
CUSA Co-Player of the Week – Michael Osei-Bonsu, Missouri State – Sr. – F – Bolingbrook, Ill.
Osei-Bonsu put on a clinic this week for the Bears (12-8, 6-3 CUSA) as they went 2-0 in two road contests at NM State and UTEP. The senior forward averaged nearly a double-double with 19.0 points and 9.0 rebounds while shooting an incredible 63.6 percent from the floor. His 21-point outing at NM State marked his sixth 20-point effort of the season. After trailing much of the game at UTEP, Osei-Bonsu scored the game-winning layup with 12 seconds left.
 
CUSA Co-Player of the Week – Po’Boigh King, Sam Houston – Sr. – G – Roanoke Rapids, N.C.
King was sensational as Sam Houston (13-7, 5-4 CUSA) picked up a pair of home wins to extend its win streak to four. The Roanoke Rapids, N.C., native averaged 25.0 points and shot 58 percent from the floor and from downtown. King finished with 23 points and four assists in an offensive battle with the Owls on Wednesday. In Saturday’s win, he dropped 27 points and was 4-6 from beyond the arc.
 
CUSA Freshman of the Week – Trey Simpson, Kennesaw State – Fr. – F – Evergreen, Ala.
Simpson claims his third consecutive and fourth overall Freshman of the Week honor after leading all freshman scorers with 16.5 points last week. The Owls (12-8, 4-5 CUSA) suffered a pair of tough losses to Sam Houston and LA Tech on the road, but the true freshman from Evergreen, Ala., kept them right in it. He shot 10-17 from the field and was 8-14 from three-point land. Simpson has become one of the top shot blockers in CUSA after adding four more last week and now averaging the most in CUSA games (2.2).
