KENNESAW, Ga. – No. 2 Liberty defeated No. 8 Sam Houston 10-4 to move onto the semifinal round on Thursday at the 2026 CUSA Baseball Championship from Mickey Dunn Stadium at Henssler Financial Field on the campus of Kennesaw State. The Flames will face off against the Bulldogs on Friday at 10 a.m. ET to round out pool B play.
 
Liberty propelled to victory behind the Flames’ two three-run homers. Kyle Hvidsten blasted one to center field in the top of the sixth, while Nick Barone launched one to left field in the ninth inning.
 
CUSA Pitcher of the Year Ben Blair earned his seventh win of the season, going 6.0 innings with four strikeouts. Cooper Harrington earned his 12^th save on the year.
