KENNESAW, Ga. – No. 1 Jax State knocked off No. 9 MTSU 9-3 on day two of the 2026 CUSA Baseball Championship Thursday afternoon from Mickey Dunn Stadium at Henssler Financial Field on the campus of Kennesaw State. The Gamecocks will battle it out with the undefeated Hilltoppers on Friday at 12:30 p.m. ET to round out pool A play. With the win, Jax State has clinched a spot in Saturday’s semifinal round.
 
The Jax State offense ignited in the ninth inning as the Gamecocks scored five runs. Cooper Blauser went 2-4 with a double and two RBI. Brady Thomas tallied a game-high two doubles with two hits and two runs scored.
 
All-conference member Steven Cash secured the win as he hurled 5.0 innings of work with eight strikeouts. Chase Horst earned his second save of the season.
