CUSA Hitter of the Week – Jackson Chirello, KSU – Sr. – INF/OF – Woodstock, Ga.
Chirello claims CUSA Hitter of the Week recognition after showcasing an impressive week at the plate for the Owls (22-22, 11-13 CUSA). The senior slugger hit .400 (6-15) in four contests with four home runs, six runs, nine RBI and a 1.200 slugging percentage. The Woodstock, Ga., native, belted two long balls in the series opening win on Friday in a 3-4 effort. His one hit on Sunday was a three-run shot to blow the game open and lead Kennesaw State to its second CUSA sweep of the season.
CUSA Pitcher of the Week – Liam Watt, DBU – Sr. – LHP – Burlington, Ontario, Canada
Watt was electric in Friday night’s series opening win as he secured CUSA Pitcher of the Week honors for the first time in his career. The senior southpaw went the distance for the Patriots (28-20, 16-8) marking the first complete game at Horner Ballpark by a DBU pitcher since 2015. The Burlington, Ontario, native, punched out a career-high 10 batters while allowing just one run, which came in the first inning. He held the LA Tech bats scoreless for the final eight frames.
