CHARLOTTE, N.C. – No. 1 seed Kentucky advances to the championship game for the first time since 2008 with a 2-1 victory over No. 5 seed Marshall. Kalil ElMedkhar scored what would be the game winner in the seventh minute.

The Wildcats got off to a hot start with ElMedkhar’s goal and one from C-USA Player of the Year JJ Williams 10 minutes later. Marshall’s JP Rylah netted in his second goal of the tournament 15 minutes into the second half, but Kentucky’s defense held strong to stave off any chance at a comeback.
 
Kentucky, ranked No. 3 in the nation, will play either No. 2 seed Old Dominion and No. 3 seed Charlotte in the championship match of the 2018 Air Force Reserve Conference USA Men’s Soccer Championship on Sunday, Nov. 11 at 1 p.m. ET. All remaining games will be streamed on ESPN+.
