MSOC: Fifteen Named All-Southeast Region

DALLASFifteen from Conference USA men’s soccer were named to the 2019 NCAA Division I Men’s Soccer All-Southeast Region Teams, United Soccer Coaches announced on Monday. The total is the most since 2016. 2019 C-USA Champion Marshall leads the league with five selections.

Following their record-setting season, five from the Thundering Herd were named to the three teams. Illal Osmanu, Jamil Roberts and 2019 C-USA Offensive MVP and Freshman of the Year Milo Yosef earned First Team recognition. Jan-Erik Leinhos was named to Second Team. The league’s Co-Golden Glove winner Paulo Pita was selected as the Third Team goalkeeper. All five are first time All-Region selections.
 
C-USA Player of the Year and Co-Defensive MVP Aimé Mabika joins Kalil ElMedkhar as repeat First Team honorees for Kentucky. Goalkeeper Enrique Facusse received a spot on Second Team. Sophomore Marcel Meinzer was named to Third Team.
 
Charlotte’s Elliot Panicco, C-USA Goalkeeper of the Year and Co-Golden Glove honoree, earned a spot on First Team after being named to Third Team in 2018. Patrick Hogan and Teddy Chaouche claimed Second Team nods.
 
The conference’s Co-Defensive MVP, Nick O’Callaghan, and Midfielder of the Year, Andrew Booth, represent FIU on First Team. C-USA’s Golden Boot winner Alessandro Campoy made Third Team.
 
United Soccer Coaches is set to release All-American honorees on Thursday, December 12.
