CHARLOTTE, North Carolina – No. 4 seed Kentucky (13-1-4) scored three times in the second half, including a pair from
Daniel Evans over a span of 1:17, to lead the Wildcats to a 3-0 victory over regular-season champion and No. 1 seed FIU (12-3-2) in the first semifinal of the Conference USA Men's Soccer Championship at Transamerica Field.
Kentucky will play the winner of the (6) Florida Atlantic/(2) Marshall game in Sunday’s championship at 1 pm ET/12 pm CT.
The Wildcats and Panthers were deadlocked 0-0 after the first half, but
Luke Andrews scored in the 54th minute from an assist by
Nick Gutmann. Evans doubled the Wildcats advantage to 2-0 in the 75th minute off assists by Gutmann and
Enzo Mauriz, Just over a minute later, Evans followed with his second goal off a deflected shot to seal the victory.
Kentucky outshot FIU 10-6, and the Wildcats held a 4-1 edge in shots on goal. UK goalkeeper
