Jamil Roberts’ goal in the 60th minute lifted No. 10-ranked and Conference USA champion Marshall to a 1-0 victory over No. 16-ranked North Carolina at Sahlen's Stadium at WakeMed Soccer Park in Cary, North Carolina to advance to the national championship game of the 2020 NCAA Men’s College Cup.
It is the first time in Conference USA history that a member school will play for a NCAA men’s soccer title.
The Thundering Herd (12-2-3) will play No 2-ranked Indiana (12-1-2) on Monday, May 17 at 7 p.m. CT. The game will be broadcast on ESPNU.

After a 0-0 first half that saw North Carolina (9-5-4) take all six shots, including four on goal, Marshall was able to penetrate the Tar Heels defense.
Milo Yosef dribbled to just inside the 18-yard box and made a pass to
Vitor Dias, who was near the 12-yard spot with his back to the goal. Dias flicked a pass that Roberts one-timed with his right foot past North Carolina goaltender
Alec Smir for his fourth goal of the season and the second in as many games. Yosef and Dias each received assists on the goal which came on Marshall’s first shot of the game.
It was the second straight game Roberts and Dias combined on the winning Marshall goal, as Roberts’ goal in the quarterfinals from an assist by Dias was the difference in a 1-0 victory over Georgetown.
North Carolina out-shot the Herd 11-1, including 5-1 in shots on goal. The Tar Heels took all eight corner kicks in the game.
