MSOC: Charlotte's Hogan Named To CoSIDA Academic All-America Second Team

DALLAS – Charlotte men's soccer student-athlete Patrick Hogan earned CoSIDA Academic All-America second team honors, as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America this week.

The graduate student and team captain guided the 49ers to the second round of the NCAA Tournament, earning academic honors for his efforts in the classroom as well. He worked on his graduate certificate in data science and business analytics this spring semester, and he earned his undergraduate degree in business analytics with a 3.43 GPA.

In addition to his CoSIDA honor, which came about after garnering All-District III First Team accolades from the organization in early June, he also was selected as a United Soccer Coaches Scholar All-America First Team choice and to that organization's scholar all-region squad.

The Charlotte, North Carolina native was on the MAC Hermann Trophy Watch List, the award given to the top men's college soccer player, and he was the Conference USA Defensive MVP honoree. The United Soccer Coaches tabbed him to its All-Southeast Region First Team, and he was slotted on the All-Conference USA First Team for the second straight year.

The defender helped the 49ers to six clean sheets, including five against league opponents. He picked up College Soccer News and TopDrawerSoccer.com National Team of the Week honors and was voted the Conference USA Defensive Player of the Week in early April.
