ITF: 2026 Championship Preview

LYNCHBURG, Va. –
The stage is set for the 2026 Conference USA Indoor Track and Field Championships in Lynchburg, Virginia, taking place on February 27-28. Liberty will host the two-day meet for the third year in a row.

Action will begin at 9:30 a.m. ET on Friday morning with the pentathlon 60-meter hurdles. The first heptathlon event will follow at 10:20 a.m. Field events kick off with the women’s pole vault at 1 p.m. and track prelims will begin with the women’s mile at 3 p.m. Two track finals will take place Friday evening, including the women’s and men’s 5000-meter run at 6:30 p.m. and 6:55 p.m., respectively.

On Saturday, the heptathlon will resume at 10:30 a.m. for the final three events. Field events will pick back up at noon in the women’s shot put and track finals will begin at 2 p.m. with the women’s mile. The awards presentation is scheduled for 5:40 p.m., following the conclusion of the men’s 4x400-meter relay.

Last year, in the team’s first season with CUSA, Kennesaw State claimed the men’s title with 154 points, holding off Liberty at 139.5 points.

On the women’s side, the Flames earned their second consecutive title with 145 points. Kennesaw State finished runner-up, collecting 117 points.
